Ted goes Country!

So, I spoke about A and L having to make their 'options' for the additional tours on offer! Well, tonight everyone had the opportunity to go to 'Rustler's Rooste'!

38 out of the 41onthe tour signed up for this and it turned out to be a great evening! A and L even ended up LINE DANCING!

Rustlers Rooste is a restaurant up in the hills surrounding Scottsdale and is a very famous attraction in this area! They offer a traditional country and western dinner with a musical group playing along for the customers in surroundings that can only be described as a real cowboys saloon!

On arrival they were greeted by Cowboy Dan who took us in to the restaurant past his famous steer 'Horny'! He looked quite intimidating and I certainly was not up for a photo op with him! On entering the wild west themed restaurant you get to your table by going down a slide into the restaurant! So, all 38 duly went down the slide and I think everyone made it safely! Drinks were already on the table waiting! Beer, wine and Margueritas were all round the length of the table in large jars! And being in the west we too had to drink out of jars! No posh glasses here....it was a jar or nothing!

There was bread and salad for starters while we waited for the large T-bone steaks to appear! They were just excellent and they filled the already over sized plates along with the beans and sweet corn! As everyone spoke, laughed and ate the country and western band played in the background. Ice cream followed, although cinnamon flavoured ice cream was odd, and then came the dreaded line dancing! A large group of them went up and were given some instruction first before the band struck up and they all merrily danced away. Toast it was funny was not the half of it! But everyone had a great time!

I made an appearance and was pictured taking some beer (Hic), having candy floss and even up at the dance floor before the dancing began! I even managed to get a photo with the 'Sherrif' Cowboy Dan - although to be honest he did look a little perplexed at first!

What a great night everyone had - the company, surroundings and the food made it a night to remember.

YeeHa! And tomorrow we are off to the Grand canyon. I can't wait!,

Catch you soon!
