Day 5 Travelling Again!

Well.....G'day from.......wet and dark Oz! They arrived in Noosa around 11pm Oz time having been up since 5am in KL to get to the airport!

It was mixed feelings as they left KL....sad to say good bye.......sad to have a day of travelling again but glad to be on our way to Oz!

KL was a good experience and they enjoyed ticking off another different place that they have been too but I don't think they will rush back - it is not as  exciting or as pretty as Singapore but it was a great experience. It was not and sticky but not oppressive so and although they enjoyed it it packed something of either Singapore or Hong Kong! But they managed to do at least five of the top 10 things listed to see our do in the two days!

They were up at 5.15am so they could be down with their cases by 6.15! The pick up was at 6.45 so that should leave time to check out and grab breakfast. As they checked out the  driver came in and flamed a phone  at A and said, 'It's this you?' A replied yes but said they were told a 6.45 pick up. The driver said that is OK  just take your time. So they went down to the brasserie for a very quick breakfast before heading off. The nice car of the pick up was this time a minibus for the two, three of us, and so it was not quite up to standard. However they don't care so much about you on the way away as in the way in!!! The driver was not chatty so that was fine but he did look decidedly dodgy and it took quite a while before both of them felt they were having to the airport! Every sign for KLIA (Kuala Lumpur international airport ) he seemed to ignore which can be very off putting!

But they arrived, checked in by self service counter and then deposited their bags! They went security and headed to international departures where they had a coffee and then headed to the gate. KL is a big airport and was well organised. However by the time they got to Gate 36 there was a long queue as people seemed to be going through security again! Very odd as they had already been scanned and checked but you just have to go with the flow!

However oriental are not like the Brits and queueing is not their thing at all! Even the night before in Uniqlo the assistant had to tell two women two or three times they have to QUEUE and not just place things on the counter and expect to be dealt with! Well, they eventually opened up another one and as we waited for this  poor lady to move with her three children, bags and pushchair this family of five just jumped us both and looked not the least bit perturbed to have done so! No second look, no hesitation - just bang and they were off! It is the very same on the street or the shops or anywhere  - they have no manners or sense of let others to diary! If they want they expect!

So on board they went and this time it was A Boeing A330! No jumbo and no double decker! They realised their seats are row 32A and C! This worried them till they were on board and realised there were only two seats on the window sides but why name them A and C! The flight was long, the passengers are odd and the films were different!

After 8 long hours and then circling the airport for 20 odd minutes they finally planned!

So getting into Oz is always funny as they have rules about what you can  bring into the country! No foodstuffs, no meat, veg, seeds, items made of shell, leather, animal skins or no dirt on  your shoes! I ask you !

So they managed to smuggle in their Club biscuits for Alistair as last time the border guards laughed when they declared them and went through the line to declare food items!!

So through customs and immigration, got a son card for their old phone and then off to find the bus to Noosa! This was the most interesting pay off the day! The driver recognised one passenger from their primary school days and so they spent the next hour catching up with stories of every conceivable person that went to primary with them! So much so that one fellow passenger on the bus seemed none to pleased about it when he spoke to a friend on the phone!

Their was to much to remember! But any one who knows the driver.....
A - oh he died! Not so long ago!
B - he married, the one that was quite a hottie in her day!
C - he married D but they divorced and the kids went to pot!
E - he runs a business but is so shy it's a wonderful he makes a living!
F - did he and his brother end up in jail? (Every school has those kids!!) No! One runs a business too- a concrete business! Oh well that would suit him and no doubt one of two customers have ended up in the concrete somewhere!!
G - she is Gay - but has surprisingly been with the same partner for 30 years!!
H - he is still there and had never moved!
I - she is lovely and the driver is still very friendly with her! (Say no more??)
J - he is still as tall and hasn't changed a bit!
And the driver  - well he has three kids with an ex wife, one with  another and now he has a new partner but they aren't married! And it's perfect as they both have their own house so they come and go as they please! His partner came for breakfast today and took her sister who is home from NZ with her! It's ideal as it suits them both - and we'll I can't be bothered chasing skirt now!!!
The passenger - he was on their flight! He is heavily tattooed - all over his face, neck, body and legs and he has two or three ex wives and now spends his time travelling! He  has lived everywhere including a house in style in Borneo!
He kept asking about various people and often referred to them as ferrel kids and seemed surprised when they appeared to have grown up to be reasonably normal!

And so it Went on! For an Hour! And everyone had to sit and listen! It did help pass the time - but now I'm going to be on the lookout for ferrel kids in the area!

After a two hour journey, which included changing buses half way, we made it and meet Alistair and Michelle! They are here and have one of the other apartments! Tomorrow, or today as it is now 2 am, will be a quiet day going round Noosa while on Friday we are going to the everglades and Saturday is Emundi Markets and a drive to the Glass House Mountains!

Catch up soon!
